About the Role
The Retail Trainer is responsible for developing and delivering training programs for BOS Retail staff, primarily Teller Operations. This position works closely with department managers to identify training needs and create learning solutions that support the Bank’s Vision, Values, and overall strategy. This position may also be involved with other training projects as needed throughout the Bank.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver curriculum and specialized training programs for Teller Ops staff, including onboarding plans, job aids, procedures, checklists, simulations, and practice exercises.
- Facilitate classroom, virtual, and on-the-job training for teller operations: cash handling, deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, loan payments, cashier’s checks, drive-through procedures, balancing, fraud awareness and other routine branch transactions.
- Partner with department managers to identify and address training needs.
- Ensure training goals and objectives align with the Bank’s Vision, Values, and overall strategy.
- Facilitate learning through a variety of instructional methods, including instructor-led training, webinars, eLearning, user reference guides, and other learning tools.
- Develop, maintain, and update course materials, facilitator guides, instructor manuals, learning aids, and reference materials.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through surveys, evaluations, reports, and other feedback.
- Maintain and update Retail training content within the Bank’s Learning Management System (LMS).
- May serve as back-up trainer for the Retail Sales department (Personal Bankers and Universal Bankers).
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; 2–4 years of relevant experience.
- Thorough knowledge of banking Retail products, policies, and procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Publisher, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills, including electronic file organization and file-sharing systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision‑making skills.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to confidently interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency with audio/visual components used in presentations and training.
