Biopharmaceutical - Senior Project Manager
Base pay: $70,000 - $120,000 per year. Pay is based on skills and experience.
Previous Pharmaceutical/Biotech experience is mandatory for this role.
MMR Consulting is an engineering and consulting firm specializing in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries in the US & Canada. Its services include Engineering, Project Management, and other Consulting services.
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead design, commissioning, start‑up and ongoing project management of processes, systems and facilities. The work will be conducted at client facilities, typically in the Bradley, IL area (1.5 hrs. drive from Chicago).
Responsibilities- Provide technical guidance into engineering assessments, design, project management, commissioning and start‑up of equipment and facilities for upgrades, renovations and expansions.
- Lead or support project execution from feasibility through to completion/handover, covering feasibility assessments, concept, basic and detailed design, procurement, and project controls.
- Prepare business cases and manage resources, stakeholders, vendors, contractors and internal/external teams.
- Review technical documentation (P&IDs, specifications, layouts, manuals, datasheets) and integrate safety into project design.
- Prepare/review automation sequences for process automation.
- Facilitate project management tools: procurement tracking, vendor management, meeting minutes, risk registers, schedule updates and project updates.
- Coordinate meetings with cross‑functional departments and drive project progress.
- Travel may be occasionally required.
- Work may require overtime during installation, construction, commissioning, qualification and validation phases.
- Client‑management support and business development activities.
- Visit construction and installation sites and supervise contractors during critical installations.
- 10+ years of engineering/project management experience in pharmaceutical/biotech environments with cGMP knowledge.
- Previous capital project management experience required.
- Leadership skills and ability to lead multi‑stakeholder projects.
- Mentorship skills to coach junior employees.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Engineering degree, preferably Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical.
- Project Management certification is an asset.
- Travel may be required; ability to travel to the US is an asset.
