Coilcraft, Inc. is a privately held, global manufacturer founded in 1945 and headquartered in Cary, Illinois. We specialize in high-performance RF chip inductors, power magnetics, and filters used in advanced technologies worldwide. We are currently seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join our custom machine design and build department.
About the Role and Your Impact- Develop, program, and optimize PLC-controlled systems to reduce cycle times, increase uptime, and minimize operator intervention
- Design control systems for high-performance automated machinery, including component selection, panel layouts, and schematics
- Program, debug, and troubleshoot PLCs and automation equipment during build, testing, and production support
- Work with a range of automation technologies, including PLCs, servo systems, stepper systems, HMIs, power supplies, motion controllers, and communication networks
- Collaborate closely with mechanical designers, engineers, and manufacturing teams throughout machine design and build cycles
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Electronics or a related technical field
- At least 2 years of hands‑on experience programming PLCs in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Strong problem‑solving skills with close attention to detail
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across engineering and manufacturing teams
- Experience creating electrical schematics using CAD tools
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office for technical documentation
- Exposure to or experience with vision systems
- Familiarity with servo and motion control systems
