Senior Lecturer in Motorsport- Automotive Engineering

The School of Architecture, Computing & Engineering manages a well‑established portfolio of Engineering courses covering Mechanical Engineering, Motorsport & Automotive Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Additive Layer Manufacturing, CNC Machining and Composite Compression Moulding. Research in Engineering is carried out under four pillars – namely Additive Layer Manufacturing, Composite Engineering, Energy And Green Technologies and Process Engineering with emphases on cross‑pillar research. The Department is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic individual to contribute to the development of Motorsport & Automotive Engineering, specifically.

Responsibilities

• Expertise in vehicle dynamics and design of chassis.
• Alternative power trains.
• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering.
• Contribute to the work of established research groups and deliver all aspects of aerospace engineering.
• Disseminate research outputs in high‑quality scientific/technical journals.
• Attract research funding and/or generate external income.
• Work with staff and students as an individual and as part of the wider School and Faculty activities.

Qualifications

• PhD degree in Engineering or a very closely related subject.
• Good experience in all aspects of Motorsport & Automotive Engineering.
• Professional body membership is an advantage.
• Track record of dissemination of research outputs in high‑quality journals.

Depending on experience, you will be appointed as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer.
