The Mechanical Design Engineer performs design work using Solid Works modeling. In addition, this role applies methods of testing, design and manufacturing to the assigned products. The Mechanical Design Engineer prepares detailed drawings of components or units from 3D models. This individual maintains bills of materials, performs engineering changes and troubleshoots manufacturing and engineering problems.

• Performs design work of considerable difficulty for new and existing products using Solid Works Modeling and FEA analysis.
• Recommends relevant product/material relationships for the development of new products or the improvement of existing products. Perform studies, analyses and make recommendations on current and future products.
• Apply methods for testing, design and manufacturing of new products or improvement of existing products. Perform prototype testing, field studies and analysis for new and existing products.
• Prepares detailed drawings of components or units of less complex designs from 3D Models submitted by engineers to current Martin ISO 9001:2015 standard.
• Enters and maintains part numbers and bills of material. Assists and creates work routings and drawing associations in Visual
  
  PDM.
• Performs engineering changes.
• Troubleshoots manufacturing and assembly problems.
• Creates proposals and sales drawings.
• Visits job sites to inspect existing equipment and offers possible solutions using Martin Engineering products.

• Four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• One to two years of prior work experience preferred.
• One to two years’ experience/training in Solid Works or other 3D modeling software preferred.
• One to two years’ experience/training in data acquisition equipment/software preferred.
• One to two years’ experience in numeric modeling techniques such as FEA, DEM, CFD or other numeric modeling packages preferred.
