Environmental Specialist

Job Description - Environmental Specialist (260001AJ)

• Partner with Operations and Sales: support local plant and sales personnel, educate personnel on environmental compliance, create solutions, identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and manage consultants.
• CCDD & Clean Fill Program Management: oversee the clean fill program, evaluate and approve potential source sites, perform site assessments and compliance audits, and partner with operations to ensure adherence to regulations.
• Conduct Inspections and Audits: perform frequent inspections and audits to assess regulatory and environmental compliance and control environmental risks.
• Support Business Growth: evaluate new lines of business and potential acquisitions for environmental issues, and manage environmental due diligence activities.
• Represent on Environmental Matters: establish relationships with agencies, participate in state & local trade associations, and collaborate with Government and Community Relations on community activities.
• Additional responsibilities: other duties as assigned.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Geology, Biology, or a similar technical area is preferred. An advanced degree in environmental studies is desirable.
• Experience:
  
  experience in the environmental area preferred; hands‑on experience in engaging personnel and coaching preferred.
• Regulatory Knowledge: expertise in environmental regulatory compliance, ability to review regulatory requirements, and strong knowledge of federal and state processes (RCRA, CWA, CAA, TSCA).

  excellent verbal and written communication, and the ability to interact with all levels of personnel.

  proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google, Oracle Business Environment, and other relevant software.
