Job Description - Environmental Specialist (260001AJ)
Responsibilities- Partner with Operations and Sales: support local plant and sales personnel, educate personnel on environmental compliance, create solutions, identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and manage consultants.
- CCDD & Clean Fill Program Management: oversee the clean fill program, evaluate and approve potential source sites, perform site assessments and compliance audits, and partner with operations to ensure adherence to regulations.
- Conduct Inspections and Audits: perform frequent inspections and audits to assess regulatory and environmental compliance and control environmental risks.
- Support Business Growth: evaluate new lines of business and potential acquisitions for environmental issues, and manage environmental due diligence activities.
- Represent on Environmental Matters: establish relationships with agencies, participate in state & local trade associations, and collaborate with Government and Community Relations on community activities.
- Additional responsibilities: other duties as assigned.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Geology, Biology, or a similar technical area is preferred. An advanced degree in environmental studies is desirable. - Experience:
experience in the environmental area preferred; hands‑on experience in engaging personnel and coaching preferred. - Regulatory Knowledge: expertise in environmental regulatory compliance, ability to review regulatory requirements, and strong knowledge of federal and state processes (RCRA, CWA, CAA, TSCA).
- Interpersonal
Skills:
excellent verbal and written communication, and the ability to interact with all levels of personnel. - Technology
Skills:
proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google, Oracle Business Environment, and other relevant software.
