Primary PurposeProvides quality assurance support for T&S Engineering of projects and drawings involving the modification of utility infrastructure on Exelon's systems. Interprets and applies engineering standards, practices, philosophy, and regulatory requirements. Manages document control processes to ensure that tasks are completed in a timely way to comply with internal procedures. Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
PrimaryDuties
- Responsible for organizing and maintaining the Document Management System that consists of technical data, engineering and supplier drawings, technical specifications, and other project-oriented documents. This can include but not limited to hard copy to digital, electronic scanning, file management, and file tracking.
- Responsible for ensuring that procedures are established, followed, and maintained in compliance with documented procedures and regulations. Train personnel on the Document Management’s system, practices, and procedures as needed.
- Developing T&S Engineering Document Control specific processes and associated procedures.
- Serve as a Document Control reviewer, ensuring documents and changes comply with established requirements of T&S Engineering department. Highlight problem areas and make process improvements where possible.
- Support engineering initiatives, programs, clean-up activities and other assignments as needed.
- Managing accounts, roles, and privileges within the document management system.
- Evaluates effectiveness of current design processes. Participates on teams; (e.g. Design high voltage transmission and distribution circuits, meeting all engineering standards and criteria)
- Updating and managing the T&S Engineering Document Management System.
- Maintain a high-level capability for attention to detail when editing and maintaining applicable policies, procedures, forms, and drawings.
- Proactively monitor and facilitate timely document reviews and approvals by collaborating with appropriate representatives.
- Provides technical assistance to engineering design technicians and associate engineering design technicians.
- Applies technical knowledge to help promote a safe work environment and to enhance customer satisfaction.
- A bachelor's degree in a technical field and 3 or more years of technical experience, an associate's degree in a technical field and 5 or more years of technical experience, or 7 or more years of technical experience or relevant education if non‑degreed or a non‑technical degree.
- Successful completion of the Technician Occupations Selection Systems (TECH) test. (A Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university exempts the TECH Test requirement.)
