Aboutthe Role
The EHS Specialist will need to be proficient in the use of EHS management systems including but not limited to INTELEX, ALCHEMY, and SAP - responsible for implementation, maintenance, coordination & monitoring of these systems. This position will report directly to the EHS Manager. This role will participate in statutory/regulatory compliance as well as industry best practices in health, safety and environmental responsibilities.
This includes development and maintenance of procedures, processes, and plant personnel, including training.
- Support business strategy to ensure all EHS directives, policies, and initiatives are effectively developed and implemented at site level. This includes but is not limited to Process Safety Management processes, Master Schedule, ISO
14001, and any other internal EHS programs. - Help enforce EHS policies to establish a culture of Health & Safety for the facility.
- Support site EHS training, develop appropriate resources, and execute training sessions for employees and management staff as required.
- Undertake, at regular intervals, EHS audits/inspections of the site and develop appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Support site supervisors with the investigation of EHS incidents at the site. Where necessary, lead the investigation process.
- Assist on the review of physical site security and security situations as they develop.
- Maintain EHS records to ensure adherence to corporate polices and/or regulatory requirements. Includes, but not limited to, OSHA 300 log, training, inspections, permits etc.
- Support and maintain all Safety programs and compliance such as ISO
14001 certification, LIFE program etc. - Travel up to 25%.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an applicable field of study required.
- 2-3 years of EHS demonstrated relevant experience required.
- Experience with Local, State and Federal regulatory agencies. OSHA and EPA are required, DHS, PSM, PHA, and DHA experience preferred.
- Experience with plant effluents, including air and wastewater discharge permitting requirements.
- Understanding of plant utilities, collection and analysis of data to support sustainability initiatives.
- Ability to be flexible with hours when needed.
Physical Requirements
Employee has exposure to chemicals, products that require use of a respirator and must wear safety glasses and proper PPE as specified in the primary environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is regularly required to sit and frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally to stoop, kneel or crouch.
Employee will be required to work at heights and climb stairs on a routine basis.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. In addition, position requires the ability to hear and communicate verbally.
The pay range for this position is $64,000 - $105,000 in Annual Salary. Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay-for-performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
The specific compensation offered to a candidate within the above range may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
