QAQC Commissioning Manager

Coalesce Management Consulting is supporting a leading hyperscale data center developer on the delivery of a large scale mission critical campus currently in active construction and commissioning in the Chicago area.

We are seeking an experienced QAQC Commissioning Manager to join the owner side delivery team as the on site technical lead across an active multi-phase campus development, providing quality oversight, commissioning coordination and owner representation throughout construction and operational turnover.

This is a long term program with multiple future expansion phases already in planning.

• Large scale hyperscale mission critical campus in active construction and commissioning
• Multiple facilities with large scale data halls
• Active commissioning underway with future phases transitioning toward live operational environments
• Strong forward pipeline of additional buildings progressing in parallel

The successful consultant will become a key on site extension of the owner's delivery team, maintaining quality and commissioning standards across a complex multi-phase program.

• Act as the owner's representative during active construction, commissioning and turnover phases
• Provide on site leadership and technical support across project delivery teams
• Coordinate across GCs, subcontractors, controls teams and vendors to drive project success
• Serve as the primary on site point of contact, providing visibility into progress and emerging challenges

• Manage commissioning progress, track open issues and ensure timely resolution
• Provide technical oversight to protect project quality and commissioning standards
• Support commissioning readiness, testing activities and operational turnover processes
• Identify risks, gaps and areas requiring improvement across active phases

• Maintain accountability across project teams while supporting collaborative working relationships
• Lead technical discussions, challenge issues and drive resolution in fast paced environments

Strong technical judgement and commissioning leadership experience is more important than pure hyperscale tenure.

• Proven experience managing QAQC and commissioning activities within mission critical, hyperscale or data center environments
• Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical and controls systems within data center facilities
• Experience working as an owner's representative, commissioning manager or similar delivery role
• Experience supporting large scale construction projects from execution through operational handover
• Collaborative leader with a direct, transparent and accountable communication style
• Preferred certifications: PMP, CCM, PE (beneficial)
