Structural Engineering Director

A well-established engineering consultancy is seeking a Director of Structural Engineering to lead and grow its bridge engineering function. This is a senior leadership role with a strong focus on technical delivery, team development, and client engagement within the transportation/bridge sector.

• Lead the structural/bridge engineering team, providing both technical and strategic direction
• Oversee the design and delivery of complex bridge and transportation projects
• Act as Engineer of Record on key projects
• Support business development efforts, including client relationship management and proposal development
• Mentor and develop engineering staff across multiple levels
• Ensure quality, compliance, and consistency across all structural deliverables
• Work closely with leadership on growth strategy and market expansion

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• 20+ years of experience in structural engineering, with a strong focus on bridges
• Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) – required
• Proven experience leading teams and delivering large-scale bridge projects
• Strong understanding of DOT standards and industry codes
• Track record of client engagement and supporting business development
