Position Summary

Field Service Technicians are a vital resource for the medical industry responsible for cleaning, refurbishing sharpening and repairing precision surgical instruments. Field Service Technicians I work in collaboration with Field Service Technicians II and Senior technicians under moderate supervision.

Responsibilities:
Essential Duties
  • Repair surgical instruments under guidance of Field Service Technicians II and Senior technicians.
  • Build and maintain a positive relationship with the customer.
  • Manage customer expectations to meet or exceed their needs.
  • Partner with sales team(s) to grow business in assigned territory.
  • Perform accurate and timely repairs of precision surgical instruments.
  • Manage all on‑site repairs, maintenance and testing of assigned instruments and equipment.
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions; requires strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Produce timely daily work orders.
  • Update customer reports as needed.
  • Cooperate with sales and technical teams to share information across the organization.
  • Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Maintain regular cleaning of work area and company equipment.
  • Comply with applicable ISO and FDA regulations as stated in the Quality Manual.
  • Embod the Company's Vision, Mission and Values.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Expertise:
Knowledge & Skills
  • Language skills: read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively to groups of customers or employees.
  • Mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide using whole numbers, fractions, decimals; compute rates, ratios, percentages; interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning ability: apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form; solve problems with multiple concrete variables in standardized situations.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required.
  • Experience with machining or handling delicate metal instruments desirable.
  • Clear communication with customers, colleagues, and management required.
  • Technical degree desirable.
  • Occasional overtime and shift changes required to meet customer needs.
  • Computer knowledge required.
  • Must be fully vaccinated and/or immunized against COVID‑19, influenza, hepatitis B, and other healthcare customer vaccination requirements.
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Physical Demands
  • May require standing, walking, and occasional lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment

Work performed in moderate noise level settings, typically clinical environments such as hospitals, clinics, and health care clinics.

Salary Range

$27.00 – $40.51 per hour.
