About the OpportunityOur client is a global leader in the production and distribution of fresh food products, seeking a Senior Engineering & Maintenance Manager to lead Engineering, Maintenance, Facilities, and Capital Projects across three manufacturing plants in Bartlett, IL.
This role is ideal for a hands‑on engineering leader with strong experience in automated manufacturing equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC‑controlled systems, as well as CAPEX project management, AutoCAD, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement within a food or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead manufacturing engineering, automation, equipment upgrades, and process improvements.
- Manage CAPEX projects from planning through installation and startup.
- Oversee contractors, construction activities, and regulatory compliance.
- Partner with Operations, Quality, R&D, and Supply Chain on new product launches and capacity expansion.
- Identify and implement new technologies to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Lead the Maintenance organization (50+ technicians and 3 supervisors).
- Develop preventive, predictive, and reliability‑centered maintenance programs.
- Improve equipment reliability, maximize uptime, and optimize asset performance.
- Oversee CMMS utilization, spare parts management, maintenance planning, and complex technical troubleshooting.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all applicable safety regulations.
- Promote a strong safety culture through training and employee engagement.
- Coach and develop Engineering & Maintenance teams while building future leaders.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, and KPI‑driven performance improvements.
- Serve as a key technical advisor to the Plant Leadership Team.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
- 10+ years of Engineering & Maintenance leadership experience in food or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Strong experience leading CAPEX projects, equipment installations, and facility expansions.
- Hands‑on experience with automated manufacturing equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC‑controlled systems.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD (required), CMMS, and project management software.
- Knowledge of OSHA, machine safety, and industrial regulations.
- Experience leading managers and maintenance teams.
- Spanish required.
