Pay Range = $60,000-$80,000 (based on experience) JOB SUMMARY
Supports the Finance department in producing accurate, timely, and meaningful financial reports. This role will focus on improving the speed and reliability of monthly reporting, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and providing data-driven insights that help guide operational and strategic decisions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare, analyze, and distribute timely monthly financial statements, dashboards, and variance reports to leadership and program managers. - Month-End Support:
Collaborate with the Accounting team to ensure all necessary journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations are completed to close each period accurately and on time. - Data Management and Accuracy:
Ensure accuracy and consistency of data within Microsoft Business Central and related reporting tools. - Financial Modeling:
Build and maintain financial models to support decision-making, scenario planning, and long-term sustainability analysis. - Cross-Department
Collaboration:
Partner with department leaders to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights that improve program and organizational performance. - Process Documentation and Improvement:
Document financial procedures and assist in streamlining reporting processes for greater efficiency. Specifically work towards optimizing processes within Microsoft Business Central and other IT solutions to help us advance goals to improve operational performance. - Continuous Learning:
Stay current on nonprofit accounting standards, reporting best practices, and financial systems improvements.
- Support preparation of materials for audits, grant reporting, or funding applications.
- Assist with system updates or testing related to accounting and financial reporting tools.
- Participate in organizational meetings to provide financial insights.
- Provide backup support for Accounting functions as needed.
- Contribute to special projects and ad-hoc financial analyses requested by leadership.
Work is performed in an indoor, office setting.
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of accounting principles and nonprofit financial reporting standards.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret data, identify trends, and make sound recommendations.
- Attention to detail and data integrity, ensuring accuracy in all reports and analyses.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial audiences.
- Time management and prioritization skills, able to meet recurring deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaboration and teamwork, working effectively across departments to gather information and share insights.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (required).
- 2-5 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or related roles (nonprofit or healthcare experience preferred).
- Experience with ERP or accounting software (Microsoft Business Central preferred).
