The Chief Credit Officer (CCO) will oversee all aspects of credit operations at Union National Bank. This full‑time, on‑site position in the Greater Chicago Area involves developing and implementing credit policies, managing credit risk, overseeing underwriting processes, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The CCO will collaborate closely with executive leadership to align credit strategies with overall business goals and maintain a balanced and high‑performing loan portfolio.
Leadership, strategic decision‑making, and deep industry knowledge are critical to driving forward‑thinking credit strategies while supporting community banking values.
- Expertise in Credit Management and Credit Risk Management, including the ability to develop and implement effective credit policies to mitigate risk and ensure compliance
- Strong background in Finance, with an understanding of financial analysis and reporting to support strategic decision‑making
- Experience in Underwriting and assessing creditworthiness to ensure responsible lending practices
- Proven capabilities in Portfolio Management for maintaining balanced and high‑quality loan portfolios
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to mentor and lead a team effectively
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on strategic initiatives
- Proficiency in navigating regulatory environments and ensuring compliance with banking regulations
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree or advanced certifications preferred)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in credit administration, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the banking industry
