Accountant / Financial Analyst Responsibilities
- Utilize Fiserv-Portico and Wisdom software to perform data processing activities and develop actionable financial insights.
- Provide detailed financial analysis supporting strategic initiatives.
- Assist in the development and preparation of the Credit Union's annual budget.
- Maintain CECL model providing ongoing analysis of the adequacy of the Allowance for Loan Loss.
- Maintain professional communication with auditors, governmental agencies, and vendors, ensuring all inquiries are resolved promptly and accurately.
- Perform detailed analyses utilizing the general ledger and other financial reporting systems.
- Prepare daily cash position reports; assist the VP of Finance in organizing and analyzing data regarding projected assets, liabilities, and liquidity.
- Assist in the creation of monthly financial statements and reports for the Asset‑Liability Committee (ALCO) and the Board of Directors.
- Support the preparation of the NCUA 5300 Call Report, IRS Form 990, and Federal Reserve 2900 reports.
- Prepare documentation for internal and external audits; assist in the implementation of auditor and examiner recommendations as directed by leadership.
- Assist with required regulatory reporting.
- Provide backup for card services (Debit/Credit/Prepaid) and ACH activities, including posting file verification, exception processing, and dispute adjustments.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 3+ years of professional accounting/financial analysis experience, ideally within a financial institution.
- Working knowledge of GAAP and FASB standards specifically as they apply to financial institutions.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex spreadsheets) and the ability to quickly master core financial systems (Fiserv/Portico).
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Previous experience with Credit Union operations and regulations.
- Familiarity with Fiserv's Portico and Wisdom platforms.
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a significant plus.
