Then consider working for the Illinois Department of Revenue. We are hiring a Federal/State Exchange Unit (FSEU) Supervisor (Public Service Administrator option
2) for our Audit Bureau in Springfield, Illinois. This position is responsible for overseeing staff involved in reviewing, examining, comparing, and analyzing finalized income tax returns. If you have at least 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or training in the tax auditing of books, records, and documents, then we want you! Don't let this opportunity pass you by.

Essential Functions
* Under general direction of the Lifestyle/Nexus/Discovery (LND) Manager and Audit Discovery & Recovery Division Manager, plans, manages, and directs the activities of a professional staff engaged in reviewing, examining, comparing, and analyzing copies of finalized Internal Revenue Service (IRS) audits on individual, corporate, fiduciary and partnership income tax returns.
* Provides guidance and assistance to subordinate staff in resolving unusual, unique, questionable technical problems, or cases based on accounting records and/or evidence presented.
* Attends and participates in Division staff meetings.
* Responds to written and/or telephone inquiries from taxpayers, explaining adjustments made to returns and liabilities shown on Department notices.
* Serves as full line supervisor.
* Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
* Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to four years of college, with coursework in accounting or finance.
* Requires prior experience equivalent to three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in accounting, finance or training in the tax auditing of books, records and documents of corporations, partnerships and individuals.
Preferred Qualifications
* Three (3) years of experience working with current Illinois and federal tax laws, rules and regulations.
* Three (3) years of professional supervisory and/or management experience directing operations and work activities of staff (i.e., assigning work, writing, and serving performance evaluations, including setting objectives, approving benefit time use, grievances, initiating discipline etc.).
* Two (2) years of experience working with Federal Income Tax Act and the ability to relate its provisions to specific issues.
