Job SummaryCentral Illinois community bank is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Loan Officer to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for guiding clients through the loan process, assessing their financial needs, and providing tailored lending solutions. Experience in Commercial, Agricultural, Consumer & Residential lending preferred.
- Engage with prospective clients to understand their financial goals and recommend appropriate loan products.
- Conduct thorough credit analysis and evaluate applicants’ financial information using tools such as FNMA guidelines and mortgage software.
- Manage the entire loan origination process, from application intake through underwriting, processing, and final approval.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations including TILA (Truth in Lending Act) and Fair Housing laws during every stage of the loan process.
- Negotiate terms with clients, lenders, and third-party vendors to secure favorable agreements while maintaining transparency and integrity.
- Prepare detailed contracts, escrow documents, and other legal paperwork accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain excellent customer service by guiding clients through each step of the loan journey, answering questions promptly, and providing ongoing support.
- Proven experience in financial sales, mortgage lending, or loan officer roles with a strong understanding of loan origination procedures.
- Expertise in credit analysis, underwriting standards, and mortgage servicing practices aligned with FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines.
- Proficiency with financial software such as Quicken, accounting software, and other banking or mortgage-specific tools.
- Strong negotiation skills coupled with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly to clients.
- Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations, TILA requirements, escrow processes, and basic math skills including 10-key typing for data entry accuracy.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building trust and long-term relationships.
- Ability to perform detailed loan processing tasks while adhering to strict compliance standards using contracts and legal documentation.
