Position OverviewThis Fiscal Monitor (Accountant Advanced) position is responsible for performing professional accounting work focused on the administration of federal and state workforce grants. The Fiscal Monitor will review reports, support grant managers, and serve as a subject‑matter expert in the fiscal administration of federal and state grants. A primary focus of this position is to organize, plan, and conduct fiscal monitoring reviews of the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) grantees that administer workforce programs.
The position will be responsible for supporting the DCEO’s Office of Employment and Training in its oversight of grants funded by the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and other sources. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and/or in teams to provide technical assistance and coordinate formal compliance monitoring.
