Senior Controls/Compliance Analyst

We are looking for a senior‑level Controls/Compliance Analyst with an understanding of Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies and experience testing Project Management, Service Delivery, and SDLC controls. The role requires high proficiency in MS Word, Excel, SharePoint, and experience with testing, monitoring, health‑check, and spot‑check concepts and processes.

Responsibilities
  • Execute testing to provide insights and recommendations on test results, findings, and identified issues, including re‑performance testing and continuous improvement.
  • Execute monitoring and operational activities of varying complexity based on assigned portfolio, ensuring adherence to established service levels and standards.
  • Provide advice and guidance on control effectiveness, program compliance and issue descriptions.
  • Support the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Support change management of varying scope and type, typically focused on execution and sustainment activities.
  • Perform complex reviews of business artifacts.
  • Execute testing and fieldwork that is complex in nature and requires subject‑matter expertise.
  • Execute identified test programs for a variety of specializations to support effective testing and monitoring of controls within business groups and across the Bank.
  • Understand the business/group strategy and develop and maintain knowledge of end‑to‑end processes.
  • Develop knowledge related to program and/or area of specialty.
  • Maintain effective relationships with internal and external business partners/stakeholders to execute work and fulfill service delivery expectations.
  • Participate in planning and implementation of operational testing programs and execute within required service level agreements and standards.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and efficient service delivery.
  • Ensure consistent, high‑quality practices and the achievement of business results in alignment with business/group strategies and productivity goals.
  • Analyze root causes of errors to provide effective communication of issues to appropriate parties.
  • Create and maintain adequate testing support documentation such as work papers and testing reports, including the write‑up of findings for reporting.
  • Provide ongoing support to the continuous improvement process of the business unit.
  • Focus primarily on the business/group within BMO; may also have broader, enterprise‑wide focus.
  • Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
  • Work independently on a range of complex tasks, which may include unique situations.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
  • Take measured risks while protecting the bank by applying the Risk Management Framework in the execution of your role, in line with the Risk Culture and approved Risk Appetite.
Qualifications
  • Typically 4–6 years of relevant experience and a post‑secondary degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $51,800.00 – $95,900.00 (Salaried). The salary range may vary by location, skills, experience, and qualifications. The position may include a commission structure. BMO offers health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, retirement savings plans, performance‑based incentives, and discretionary bonuses.
