DSP (Direct Support Professional)- Full-Time
- Springfield, IL

Hours:

2:30pm-11:00pm

Hourly Rate: $19.50- $20.10

Are you a Direct Support Professional or student studying psychology, elementary or special education, occupational therapy, physical therapy, or other related fields looking to gain experience with children with developmental disabilities? The DSP position may be a good fit for you. We offer hands on training to expand your skill sets!

SUMMARY

Hope is a clinical, educational, and therapeutic provider for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder. We exist to help children and their families reach their maximum potential by providing state-of-the-art applied behavioral analysis therapies and access to recreation, vocational training, and individualized education programming. Our mission is to provide the best services in the most inclusive environments to encourage persons to fulfill their individual potential through evidence-based treatment, advocacy, and community education.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Work directly 1:1 in a group home setting with children with developmental disabilities
  • Effectively communicate with families/guardians about their child’s progress.
  • Work with the treatment team to track session data and help clients achieve individualized communication and early learning goals.
  • Assist with planning and preparing for clinic-based group activities.
  • Model professional appearance and attitudes.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent education.
  • A Valid Driver’s License
  • Successful background clearance, physical, agility test, and drug/alcohol screening.
  • Lift, push, pull and/ or carry 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, grasp, reach, stoop, crouch, crawl and run.
WHAT WE PREFER
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a psychology, education, or human services related field.
  • Experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
  • Enthusiasm for working with children.
