Travel RN - Med​/Surg - Oncology

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology RN with an active IL license and chemotherapy administration skills for a day shift position.

Job Details

• Work in an acute care hospital within a 24-bed Oncology unit,

• Day shift position with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:15 to 18:45,

• Care for oncology patients with an average daily census of 24,

• Floating required within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed,

• Every other weekend work required,

• Uses Cerner EMR system,

Job Requirements

• Active IL RN license required prior to consideration,

• Minimum 1 year of Oncology RN experience required,

• Chemo certification preferred,

• Experience with chemotherapy administration, continuous infusion, IV push, and oral chemotherapy required,

• Demonstrated skills in IV therapy including port access and central line care,

• Must be able to recognize and communicate abnormal lab values and handle cytotoxic spills,

• AHA or Red Cross certifications only; RQI cards are not accepted,

• First-time travelers are accepted,

• Magnet designated, Level I trauma hospital environment,

• Scrub color is any solid color,

• Must work two of the three major holidays during the assignment,

• Up to 5 days of time off are pre-approved; more requires manager approval,

• Must be away from the facility as a permanent or PRN employee for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler,

• Parking permit required at no additional cost,

• Lab appointments, electronic documents, and badge photo must be completed within one week of contract signing,
