Per Teacher Salary Schedule based on education and experience. District 308 grants experience credit on the salary schedule for up to 10 years of prior, verifiable, contractual full-time teaching experience.

General DescriptionSpeech Language Pathologists are expected to provide therapy for students who exhibit special education needs in the areas of language, speech, voice, fluency, and feeding/swallowing in order to help students meet their educational needs.
Qualifications- A valid Illinois Professional Education License (PEL) with an endorsement in Speech Language Pathology.
- ASHA CCC highly recommended.
- A valid license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations (IDFPR) in the area of Speech Language Pathology.
- Knowledge of state and federal laws regarding special education and speech language pathology including procedures for assessment and treatment of communication disorders.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Ability to case manage speech only students by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, parents, teachers, staff, etc.

- Assess and treat a variety of communication disorders including, but not limited to, articulations, phonology, receptive language, expressive language, fluency, voice, feeding/swallowing.
- Write and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Work collaboratively with staff to accomplish students' IEP goals.
- Use best practice therapy techniques to assist the students to achieve their goals.
- Maintain sufficient data to support progress and growth of students toward their documented goals.
- Educate teachers, staff, and parents regarding the role of the Speech Language Pathologist.
- Follow and implement specific district policies and procedures.
- Adhere to the ethical standards and codes of the profession and to the established rules, regulations, and laws governing special education.
