Clinic Nurse – Pulmonary Medicine Clinic

Full‑time, 40 hours/week. Department:
Pulmonary Clinic.

Compensation:
Starting at $19.61 per hour for CMA and $22.72 per hour for LPN, with pay based on experience. Sign‑On Bonus of $3,000–$5,000.

• Accepts reassignment at the direction and discretion of management, as applicable to staffing levels and patient volumes.
• Administers medication as directed by the provider.
• Assists providers with patient exams, treatments and procedures.
• Cleans, stocks exam rooms and work spaces on an ongoing basis to assure an adequate supply, performing all tasks related to stocking and cleaning in adherence to regulatory and system infection control policies and protocols, including discarding outdated items and labeling multi‑dose vials with date and initials opened and discarding them per guidelines.
• Cleans and sterilizes equipment and instruments based on needs of the practice, performing tasks and documenting them in alignment with infection control regulations and system policies and protocols.
• Collects patient data including but not limited to heights, weights, vital signs and other measurements.
• Documents appropriate data and information.
• Keeps providers aware of patient requests, needs and observations that may be of value to the provider's assessment, care and follow‑up.
• Documents responses to patient history and screening questions for use by providers during assessments and examinations.
• Follows Universal Precautions at all times during contact with patients, equipment, instruments and/or specimens.
• Performs and documents laboratory duties which may include phlebotomy, specimen collection and performance of routine basic waived testing.
• Handles and coordinates reference laboratory testing specimens, reports and corresponding documentation.
• Performs general clerical duties such as receiving and mailing patient test results, preparing charge tickets, transcribing data to physical or referral forms, filing and monitoring or ordering supplies.
• Relays information between provider(s) and client(s), including communications with patients, families, pharmacies, nursing homes, consultancy office staff, insurers and facilities.
• Communicates provider advice, instructions, orders and results as applicable, including accurate documentation.
• Routes messages to provider as appropriate.
• Schedules patients for diagnostic, therapeutic, referral or additional office visits.

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• Licensed as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
