Hours:
Full-time, Part-time, PRN, Weekdays, Nights, Weekends - Varied shifts from 1 hour to 12 hours, choose your schedule

Being a Companion Caregiver at Visiting Angels Springfield is a rewarding opportunity to provide compassionate care to senior adults in the Central Illinois area, including Sangamon, Menard, Morgan, and Logan counties. This role allows you to give back to the community while building valuable skills.
Visiting Angels offers advanced training in Dementia Care and Alzheimer’s Care, giving caregivers the chance to continue developing their expertise.
Companion Caregiver Responsibilities- Help clients take prescribed medication
- Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house, doctor’s appointments, and walks
- Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
- Help clients perform routine exercises
- Plan and prepare meals, with assistance from the clients when possible
- Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop
- Perform light housekeeping duties that clients cannot complete on their own
- Be a pleasant and supportive companion
- Report any unusual incidents
- Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
- Passion to serve others – a true caregiver
- Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
- Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
- Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
- Respectful and compassionate
- Good time management skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong ethics
- Physical endurance
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Own a vehicle with current insurance
- Social Security Card
- Must meet all qualifications to receive bonus.
