The Speech Language Pathologist provides evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of communication disorders to support high school students’ academic success and social development. This role ensures students can effectively access curriculum and engage in school activities through improved communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations to assess student needs and determine eligibility for services
  • Develop and implement individualized education program (IEP) goals and treatment plans aligned with student needs
  • Provide direct therapy services in individual and group settings targeting articulation, fluency, voice, and language skills
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student progress and generalization of skills
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including progress reports, service logs, and compliance records
  • Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team discussions, and school-based professional development
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Active or eligible Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist license and appropriate school certification
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
  • Experience working with high school students or adolescents in a school or clinical setting
  • Knowledge of evaluation tools, therapy techniques, and special education laws and processes
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills with the ability to manage a caseload effectively
