Cardiac Sonographer
The Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for providing ultrasound diagnostic tests for patients.
Job RelationshipsReports to the Operations Manager
Principal ResponsibilitiesPerform echocardiograms as directed by physicians. Explain procedures to patients to assure cooperation and optimum test results. Position patients. Select appropriate transducer. Conduct scanning procedures using ultrasound equipment. Move scanner over specified area and adjust equipment to focus. Make hard copy of images. Document tests. Develop reports and assemble materials for cardiologists. Maintain ultrasound equipment. Order and stock all ultrasound supplies.
Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures. Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training & accomplishments as required per policy. Provide excellent customer service and adhere to SC Way customer service philosophy. Perform other job duties as assigned.
Completion of course in ultrasonic technology.
Licenses/CertificatesCPR certification per American Heart Association guidelines required within 30 days of hire. Must be registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS), Cardiovascular Credentialing International and/or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographers. Credentialed with echocardiography certification.
Working EnvironmentMust be able to lift up to 35 lbs. Must be able to assist patients to and from ultrasound table. Standing and walking.
