Ultrasound Technologist, Registry - Crown Point

Overview

Be part of a world-class academic health-care system at UChicago Medicine Northwest Indiana as an Ultrasound Technologist in the Radiology Department. This 100% onsite role is in Crown Point and requires based in the greater Chicagoland area.

• Complete competencies in all general abdominal and pediatric exams without duplex within 30 minutes
• Participate in biopsy procedures with assistance
• Perform portable and ED studies for all general ultrasound exams, adult and pediatric
• Perform studies with minimal oversight from department Lead, Imaging Technical Coordinator or Manager; can perform duties independently
• Utilize EPIC independently to begin exams, end exams, add supply charges, verify orders, change orders as necessary and review patient chart for pertinent history
• Properly utilize PACS for image presentation
• Review completed studies with radiologist for approval
• Performs other duties assigned by Lead Technologist and Department Manager
• Participate in imaging evaluation and improvement with Imaging Technical Coordinator

• Satisfactory completion of formal Ultrasound training program through an accredited school
• Ultrasound experience in abdominal, small parts and basic vascular
• Current ARDMS registry in Abdominal Imaging or completion within one year of hire
• CPR and BLS training required
• Effective communication skills and excellent patient care skills
• Handle high pressure, fast-paced work environment
• Excellent teamwork
• Ability to work independently on call

• Pediatric and advanced vascular preferred but not mandatory; ability to learn upon hire
