Join Our Expanding Crisis Services Team!

We are looking for a Crisis Services Counselor to join our Mobile Crisis Response team at the DuPage County Health Department.

Job Details

Full-time evening shift, Monday to Friday, 2:00–10:00 pm. Requires a valid driver’s license and a reliable personal vehicle.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree considered; master’s degree and licensure (LSW, LPC, LCSW, LCPC, LMFT) preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience working with chronically mentally ill populations or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Salary Range
  • Bachelor’s degree: $45,967–$53,967
  • Master’s degree & license (LSW, LPC): $51,075–$65,000
  • Clinical License (LCSW, LCPC, LMFT): $59,240–$69,940
Responsibilities
  • Conduct community-based crisis evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults.
  • Provide referral and community resource linkage, including CARES/SASS, law enforcement, hospital settings, and families/individuals.
  • Assisting with on-site responsibilities, including conducting on-site crisis evaluations.
  • Answer the crisis line and 988.
  • Assist on the Mental Health Units within the Crisis Recovery Center and complete client care tasks for the 12-bed crisis residential unit as needed.
  • Maintain required training, licensure, and certification.
  • Collaborate with staff and community providers.
  • Provide emergency and crisis intervention services in person, by phone, or video.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle.
  • 2+ years of experience working with chronically mentally ill populations or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Benefits

Including a comprehensive benefit package and a $2.00 shift differential for off‑shift work.
