. The Manager, Formulary Management, Pediatric Drug Policy, & Pharmacy Graduate Education Programs serves as a key operational leader within the Department of Pharmacy Services and is responsible for coordinating organizational formulary management activities, pharmacy governance processes, pediatric drug policy initiatives, residency program administration, and pharmacy learner programs. This individual leads operational execution related to Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) Committee activities including formulary additions, revisions, removals, medication-use policy implementation, and ongoing formulary maintenance activities.
The Manager collaborates closely with pharmacy leadership, clinical specialists, operations teams, and multidisciplinary stakeholders to support safe, evidence-based, and financially responsible medication-use practices across the health system. The Manager also facilitates drug shortage mitigation strategies as well as implementation planning for new therapies and operational changes. In partnership with pharmacy leadership, this role supports pediatric analytics and identification of opportunities related to medication stewardship, utilization management, cost savings initiatives, and pediatric drug policy.
Additionally, the Manager serves as PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program Director and coordinates pharmacy student experiential activities including onboarding, scheduling, and support of School of Pharmacy partnerships and affiliation agreements. This role serves as an operational and programmatic force multiplier for pharmacy leadership by improving coordination, standardization, communication, and execution across pharmacy programs and governance structures.
Essential Job Functions
- Lead coordination of drug shortage mitigation and medication stewardship activities including shortage tracking, multidisciplinary communication, operational response planning, and utilization optimization strategies
- Lead formulary maintenance activities including targeted therapeutic class reviews, utilization assessments, and formulary optimization initiatives
- Coordinate pediatric medication-use policy implementation and formulary standardization activities across the health system
- Provide project management support for pediatric pharmacy initiatives, including timeline tracking, deliverables, and stakeholder coordination
- Assist pharmacy leadership with development of pediatric financial models, benchmarking analyses, and pipeline evaluations
- Support data-informed decision-making through development and validation of pharmacy reports, utilization analyses, and operational dashboards
- Lead coordination of Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) Committee operations including agenda development, presentation coordination, documentation, and follow-through of committee actions
- Draft communications, reports, and presentations for pharmacy leadership
- Facilitate coordination across pharmacy, medical staff, nursing, finance, and other stakeholders
- Collaborate with pharmacy operations, informatics, supply chain, and clinical teams to operationalize formulary and medication-use changes
- Support administration of PGY1 pharmacy residency program in accordance with ASHP accreditation standards and student experiential education programs
- Coordinate schedules, onboarding, evaluations, and program requirements in coordination with student coordinator workgroup, PGY1 leadership team, and Residency Executive Committee
- Align resident and student projects with departmental priorities in analytics, drug policy, and operational improvement
- Assist with development of educational materials, learning experiences, and program enhancements
- Serve as a resource for residents, students, and preceptors
- Maintain knowledge of contemporary pharmacy practice, analytics, and healthcare trends
- Participate in departmental and institutional committees as assigned
- Contribute to quality improvement, research, and professional development activities
- Perform other duties as assigned
