Job Description Summary
The Senior Specialist, Patient Access - Specialty Operations is responsible for facilitating new patient’s transition to Option Care Health services with the goal of delivering a consistent onboarding experience where patients and referral partners feel Option Care Health makes it easy to transition care. The Senior Specialist works in conjunction with Sales to prepare patients for OCH services and facilitates all aspects of the patient’s transition to home/AIS.
Additional responsibilities may include training, special projects, and any tasks assigned by management.
- Engages with patient, referral source, sales, pharmacy, and nursing to coordinate discharge and secure nursing and delivery.
- Creates, communicates, and obtains all required documentation for new referrals.
- Secures patient’s upfront payment, including assisting patients in finding avenues for payment and directing them to the financial assistance program.
- Supports ongoing activities needed to ensure clean claims on hold and denial management; follows up on missing paperwork.
- Assists Supervisor and Manager with special assignments as needed, including acting as backup for Lead Specialist.
- Assists Lead by communicating opportunities for improvement in process and offering resolutions to present to PRM Supervisory Responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Internal Candidates: 1 year experience as a Patient Registration Specialist.
Basic Qualifications• Ability to multi-task and support numerous referrals/priorities at one time.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be detail-oriented and have a high degree of quality focus.
• High degree of customer service skills required.
• Ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and collaborate with cross‑functional team members across sales and operation functions.
Previous healthcare/medical billing experience preferred. May perform other duties as assigned.
Pay RangeDue to state pay transparency laws, the full range for the position is below:
Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. Pay Range is $21.07-$35.12.
