Join a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine, as the Vice President, Comer Children’s Hospital responsible for providing operational leadership for Comer Hospital, Pediatric and Women’s Care Services, reporting to the inaugural President of Comer Children’s Hospital. Vice President, Comer Children’s Hospital will focus on the design, implementation, execution, and ongoing operations of comprehensive Women’s and Children’s Services and programs for the University of Chicago Medicine.

The VP will create and sustain an environment with appropriate resources, training, system integration and leadership to provide high quality pediatric and women’s health care services in a cost effective manner. They will develop relationships with and serve as liaison to strategic affiliate organizations. Working closely with the Clinical Department Chairs, Medical Directors and Nursing leaders, the VP, Comer Children’s Hospital is responsible for setting policy and practices to have a highly-developed and engaged work force to ensure excellent patient care, satisfaction and compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory agency standards.

This role will be the operational leader for pediatric and women’s healthcare in setting and executing the vision around patient/family experience and patient safety/health outcomes. As a hospital member of Solutions for Patient Safety (SPS), this role will serve as the co-executive site leader for the patient safety work in the children’s hospital.

Who You Are

A passionate and collaborative pediatric healthcare executive with:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MSN, MBA or higher) preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years progressive leadership experience in a senior health care management position and/or health care operations required.
  • Experience with Pediatric care in a Magnet designated organization is preferred.
  • Experience with bargaining units is preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements governing healthcare operations and clinical practice.
  • Knowledge of best practices, clinical quality metrics, and performance improvement processes to drive continuous excellence in care delivery.
  • Strong command of medical, clinical, and industry terminology.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, and guide teams toward achieving high performance and organizational goals.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain internal partnerships that enhance clinical care delivery and patient outcomes.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead within a complex, academic healthcare environments.
  • Expertise in pediatric and family-centered care delivery across inpatient and ambulatory settings, preferred.
