Job SummaryAs the local, on‑property sales contact for customers, the Sales Coordinator is responsible for proactively soliciting and handling all revenue‑related opportunities in sales. The role actively upsells each business opportunity to maximize revenue, achieves personal and team revenue goals for the hotel, and ensures that business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for proper service delivery.
Business Results- Builds department top‑line revenue by adhering to sales strategy guidelines set by the Director of Sales & Marketing and identifies revenue opportunities based on the event profile.
- Meets and exceeds individual revenue goals, effectively manages customer budgets, and identifies upsell opportunities throughout the sales process.
- Exceeds company minimum standards for the sales process and acts as a mentor for others within this area.
- Understands the overall market, competitors, economic trends, and supply & demand.
- Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers through sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, etc.
- Conducts customer site inspections.
- Targets key accounts, markets, or segments with heavy emphasis on proactive solicitation and account saturation.
- Responds to incoming inquiries within markets within 4 hours.
- Closes the best opportunities for the hotel based on market conditions and hotel needs.
- Accurately forecasts group sleeping rooms and revenue prior to turnover and continues to partner in the process after turnover.
- Creates sales contracts as required.
- Comprehends budgets as needed to assist in department financial management and achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
- Ensures a high level of customer satisfaction and builds mutually beneficial relationships to support future revenue growth.
- Coordinates and communicates with customers regarding event details and follows up post‑event.
- Maintains presence with customers throughout the event period, greets them, and hands off to Convention Services for execution.
- Solves problems and suggests alternatives, showcasing leadership in guest hospitality.
- Ensures products and services sold to event planners meet or exceed expectations, fostering loyalty and increased market share.
- Sets a positive example for guest relations.
- Interacts with guests to obtain feedback and effectively handles complaints.
- Reviews Guest Service Results with leaders and participates in corrective action plans.
- Emphasizes guest satisfaction during departmental meetings and drives continuous improvement.
- Uses Delphi or other hotel systems to capture and manage customer information daily.
- Demonstrates commitment to Driftwood Hospitality Management operating principles and philosophies.
