** NATURE OF WORK
** Fairfield Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled, detail‐oriented HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team. The HR Generalist – Benefits Administration & Credentialing plays a key role in supporting employees, leaders, and organizational operations through effective benefits administration, credentialing oversight, and HR process coordination. This position is responsible for administering employee benefit programs, ensuring credentialing and regulatory compliance, maintaining audit‐ready documentation, and partnering with leaders and vendors to support open enrollment, workforce readiness, and day‐to‐day HR needs.
The role also provides payroll backup support to ensure continuity of operations.
** KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
*** Administer employee benefit programs, including eligibility determinations, enrollments, and qualifying life events
* Serve as primary liaison with benefit carriers and vendors to resolve issues and ensure accurate coverage
* Coordinate and support annual open enrollment activities, benefits communication, and employee education
* Administer employee leave programs, including FMLA, state‐mandated leaves, ADA‐related leaves, workers’ compensation coordination, and hospital leave policies
* Determine leave eligibility, track leave usage, manage documentation, and ensure timely return‐to‐work coordination
* Advise employees and managers on leave policies, timelines, and compliance requirements
* Support retirement plan administration and respond to employee inquiries
* Manage employee change events, including benefit terminations, COBRA processes, and status changes
* Prepare documentation for audits and regulatory reviews related to benefits, leave, and payroll
* Serve as payroll processing backup and assist with payroll audits and data validation
* Provide responsive, professional, and confidential support to employees regarding benefits and leave matters
** COMPENSATION:** $47,840 – $79,040 salary annually
