Minimum Starting Salary:$21.77 per hour / 7.5 hour work day
Summary:Act as as the assistant to the HR Division Liaison for multiple divisions. Using knowledge of policies and procedures, assist departments with personnel needs for Academic Professionals (AP), Civil Service (CS), Extra Help (EH), Hourly, and Faculty, and other HR questions.
Duties & Responsibilities:- Perform routine Employment functions for AP, CS, EH, Hourly, and Faculty categories, including those done in Cornerstone, JDXpert, PRMS, HRFE, Banner, Paris, Retropay, NEWT, and others.
- Perform the pre-employment and onboarding processes in Tracker I9, UI New Hire, and Hire Right and other pre-employment screening applications.
- Schedule meetings and consult senior staff for complex issues that arise in day-to-day work. Implement solutions as directed by supervisor or senior staff.
- Perform employee separation processes including exit interviews, SURS reporting, leave balance adjustments, and payout processing.
- Act as back up for Civil Service Testing operations and assist with testing functions as needed.
- Interpret and implement policies and programs that support the values and culture of the organization ensuring compliance with university, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding personnel practices.
- Participate in trainings related to HR policies and procedures, job descriptions, and classification, compensation, and employment processes at the division or campus level.
- Assists with the development and preparation of narratives, reports, and statistics including benefit and salary summaries, employee positions and staff demographics.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Any one or any combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) from the following categories:
A. Course work in human resource administration, business administration or a closely related field, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months) - Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months) - 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months) - Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
B. progressively more responsible work experience maintaining, monitoring, and/or processing human resource records and reports.
Human Resource work experience in a higher education setting.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Excellent organization and attention to detail.
