Purpose ofThe Lead, Engineering Operations provides strategic, technical, and operational leadership across Under Armour’s core e-commerce engineering and service delivery ecosystems. This role oversees the coordinated execution of both an operational delivery team and a dedicated engineering team to ensure aligned priorities, consistent service health, and the maturation of foundational engineering capabilities.
Your Impact Engineering & Operational Leadership- Provide leadership to both an operational team and an engineering team, ensuring clarity of priorities and cohesive execution.
- Drive technical direction and engineering practices that support reliability and long‑term architectural alignment.
- Provide leadership across the SRE function by coordinating with internal SRE partners and augmenting SRE capabilities through a partner‑supported delivery model.
- Lead operational readiness, governance, and service execution.
- Own the strategic relationship and operational partnership for Under Armour’s primary observability platform.
- Champion service availability, resiliency, and performance.
- Lead incident response and long‑term corrective action.
- Oversee execution across engineering and operational commitments.
- Act as the senior operational point of contact for a primary vendor partner.
- Provide coaching and technical guidance across contributors.
- Lead vendor and partner execution.
- Serve as the connector between engineering, product, security, and business.
- Continuous Improvement & Operational Maturity:
Identify opportunities for automation and improved observability.
Drive long‑term operational and engineering maturity improvements.
- 8–10+ years across engineering operations, SRE, platform engineering, or similar fields.
- Demonstrated leadership of engineering and operational teams.
- Strong background in observability, automation, and incident management.
- Serves as the enterprise Datadog product owner and internal champion, setting observability standards, driving adoption, defining the roadmap, and managing the vendor partnership.
- Demonstrated experience leading MSP‑based delivery teams, including SOW and contract governance, capacity planning, KPI/SLA management, and vendor performance oversight.
