Minimum Starting Salary: $33.33 per hour / 7.5 hour day
Summary: Provides comprehensive institutional data to support informed decision-making. Creates and compiles data reports that meet federal, state, system, and the institution s needs. Explores new methods for delivering and visualizing data. Serves as IT project manager for OIRE initiatives, including interfacing with other university IT groups and external vendors. Supports a culture of data literacy through interactions with internal constituents and collaborating with the OIRE team on professional development initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities- Extract data from various sources using Business Objects, SQL, Excel, and other data tools to create, validate, compile, analyze, and distribute reports on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis.
- Develop a thorough familiarity of institutional data sources and the appropriate use of each. Test, troubleshoot, and validate the accuracy of data and reports. Resolve data quality issues.
- Provide the OIRE team and institutional leaders with timely, accurate, and relevant information for data-informed decision making.
- Create dynamic dashboards for internal and external audiences using Tableau and/or Power
BI. Ensure proper access. - Assist in the creation and sharing of reports and visualizations for the UIS Data Book and the OIRE website.
- Act as IT project management lead for various OIRE initiatives, including EDDIE/Webi and data visualization tools. Create and maintain documentation to support OIRE data & IT functions, including project, processes, and report creation. Maintains a production calendar of all reports and technical tasks.
- Provide guidance and support in interpreting data insights, reports, and visualizations. Enhance data literacy through interactions with internal constituents and collaborating with the OIRE team on professional development initiatives that support the use and understanding of OIRE resources.
- Collaborate on software implementation, testing, and maintenance. Monitors and evaluates new software products/vendors to enhance processes. Provide feedback and recommendations for enhancements projects. Prioritize, plan, test, and implement such projects.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Any one or any combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the following categories:
- A. College coursework which includes Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT systems, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months) - Associate s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months) - 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months) - B. Work experience in IT-related functions, such as hardware/software support, programming, network design, network engineering, IT systems integration, or closely related field
- A. College coursework which includes Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT systems, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position may be required.
Minimum of 1 year of demonstrated experience with SQL, Excel, and IT Project Management
Preferred QualificationsExperience with Business Intelligence, Tableau, Power
BI, R programming, SPSS, competent interpersonal communication skills, project tracking
