Position Overview
The Lab Compute Analyst will provide on-site consulting, analytical, and technical support services for laboratory computing environments. This role combines expertise in laboratory IT systems, multivendor instrument integration, and in-lab validation/compliance activities. The analyst will partner closely with laboratory personnel, system owners, and vendors to ensure smooth onboarding, operation, and maintenance of lab instruments and associated IT systems.
Key Skills- Strong Laboratory IT background (beyond general system administration)
- Hands‑on experience with R&D instruments and laboratory systems
- Proficiency in onboarding and offboarding laboratory instruments
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to troubleshoot instrument and system issues effectively
- Understand and define problem statements and project scope
- Gather, document, and manage business and technical requirements
- Support validation/compliance activities (IOPQ, etc.) as needed
- Analyze current‑state business processes and identify improvement areas
- Assess system gaps and propose process optimization solutions
- Evaluate industry trends and emerging technologies for applicability
- Coordinate vendor solution evaluations and proof‑of‑concept demonstrations
- Recommend best practice process improvements aligning with business goals
- Serve as primary contact between lab/system owners and external vendors
- Coordinate scheduling for service activities and maintenance
- Provide weekly status updates and planning schedules
- Participate in monthly operational reviews and quarterly metrics reporting
- Implement and maintain Windows‑based security policies
- Ensure compliance with corporate IT policies through audits and reports
- Act as technical point of contact for field engineers and vendors
- Support system validation and change management initiatives
- Maintain lab equipment and software inventory
- Perform preventive maintenance on lab systems as scheduled
