Overview
The AI Governance Operations Lead acts as the primary gatekeeper and intake specialist for AI initiatives across the enterprise. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of AI governance tickets, ensuring that all proposed AI solutions meet organizational requirements for risk, compliance, and strategic alignment before moving into execution.
The ideal candidate is a high-energy, process-oriented professional who can manage high-volume backlogs (up to 100+ active tickets) while maintaining strict attention to detail and clear communication with senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Intake & Triage Management: Own the intake process within Service Now, reviewing incoming AI solution tickets for completeness and determining appropriate next steps for governance routing.
- Artifact Validation: Verify that product owners have provided all required artifacts, including business purpose, vendor details, and internal/external usage data.
- Operational Execution: Drive the "burn down" of the governance backlog by moving tickets from triage to execution and ensuring roadblocks are identified and removed.

Collaboration:
Partner closely with Responsible AI (RAI) Analysts to ensure technology assessments are completed, risk levels are assigned, and documentation is accurate. - Decision Facilitation: Schedule and lead "Deep Dive" sessions where product teams present AI solutions to senior leadership for review and approval.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain constant communication with ticket owners and product teams to provide status updates and guidance on governance requirements.
- Reporting & Metrics: Develop and maintain operational dashboards to provide visibility into ticket health, volume, and compliance status.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in Business Analysis, Project Management, Project Coordination, or Governance Operations.
- Platform Expertise: Direct experience managing workflows and ticket processing within Service Now
. - High-Volume Management: Demonstrated ability to manage a large portfolio of tasks (100+ concurrent items) in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication
Skills:
Strong ability to present technical or governance concepts to senior-level audiences and facilitate cross-functional meetings. - Analytical Mindset: Strong attention to detail with the ability to review assessments and document justifications for risk levels.
- Industry
Experience:
Experience working in healthcare, insurance, or other highly regulated enterprise environments. - Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with AI governance, Responsible AI (RAI), or compliance-driven program management.
- Technical Familiarity: Understanding of AI/ML concepts or the lifecycle of technology solution deployments.
- Operational Agility: Ability to move between multiple tickets and stakeholders quickly without losing accuracy.
- Decision Facilitation: Leading groups toward a decision through clear presentation of facts and risks.
- Process Improvement: Identifying ways to streamline the intake and triage process to increase throughput.
- Detail Orientation: Ensuring work papers and reports are executive-ready and accurately reflect risk assessments.
