ANTICIPATED DATA SPECIALIST QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Associate's degree in statistics, information technology, business, or related field
- Three to five years of experience in data management and analysis
- Knowledge of Student Data Systems (with an emphasis on Pearson Power School), state reporting databases/reports and special education student systems
- Excellent computer skills and proficient using technology tools (Excel or other data mining tools) and internet systems
- Experience in working in a special education environment preferred
- Detail oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn and support new systems and applications
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with various administrators
- Ability to analyze and solve problems on both a strategic and functional level.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in statistics, information technology, business, or related field
- 12 month position
- Understand the principles of database management and determine procedures to maintain the integrity of information by auditing current records and establishing standard data entry procedures among the ECHO programs.
- Understand the requirements of the Family Educational Rights to Privacy Act and its implications for maintaining a secure and confidential database.
- Perform essential set-up and maintenance of student management and other systems that require transfers of data information.
- Communicate with member districts and non-member districts regarding deadlines for state and federal transmissions, verify accuracy of data, and perform required transfers to agencies on time.
- Create surveys and compile the resulting data that will benefit the member districts.
- Maintains the inventory for technology hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Responsible for inserting and maintaining accurate and secure database information.
- Maintains confidentiality of student and staff information
- Build and generate reports to meet ECHO organizational needs.
- Work with software vendors for technical support and new feature requests.
- Assist with implementation of new software programs and yearly rollovers of systems.
- Respond promptly to requests and maintain open communication with staff regarding data support requests.
- Assist with uploading and editing website resources for member districts and ECHO.
- Maintain, edit, and create ECHO emails and associated distribution lists.
- 12 month position
- Participation in IMRF Pension
- 12 sick days, 2 personal days, 12 vacation days
- Salary range starts at $55,000
