Vended App Lead Consultant - Microsoft 365

The Vended Application Expert provides expertise across all major functions in their area(s) of the business and delivers product features utilizing vended software, particularly ERP applications, by applying knowledge of the application’s functionality and client business processes. The role creates technical and process designs and configures vendor software for the highly complex new or existing enterprise-wide and business-unit applications and maintenance efforts.

The VAA Expert knows vendor feature roadmaps and capabilities and leverages developer groups and support processes to gain insight and provide direction.

The Vended Application Expert is responsible for implementing, configuring, and operating the applications and platforms that support Allstate's engineering and business teams. This role owns the lifecycle of these systems, ensuring they are integrated effectively, secured properly, and maintained to meet enterprise standards and customer needs.

They work closely with engineering teams to support reliable operations, streamline workflows, and improve how applications interact with Allstate's cloud platforms. They handle operational tasks, troubleshoot issues, coordinate enhancements, and ensure SLAs are consistently met. They also contribute to building and improving the tools and processes that enable teams to use these applications efficiently.

The Vended Application Expert demonstrates strong engineering practices, drives automation and reliability improvements, and helps elevate the overall efficiency of the systems they manage. They play a key role in ensuring the applications remain stable, compliant, and aligned with Allstate's technology strategy.

• Designs, builds, manages, and operates the infrastructure and configuration of the platform infrastructure and application environments with a focus on automation and infrastructure as code.
• Leads a team in engineering practices around test driven and continuous delivery of infrastructure.
• Designs, builds, manages, and operates the continuous delivery framework and tools, manages, and automates the lifecycle of the different platform components.
• Designs, builds, manages, and operates the infrastructure as a service layer (hosted and cloud-based platforms) that supports the different platform services.
• Develops comprehensive monitoring solutions to provide full visibility to the different platform components using tools and services like Datadog, New Relic, Azure Monitor, and other similar tools.
• Develops a log analytics solution to provide logging-as-a-service to hosted applications based on open-source solutions.
• Integrates different components and develop new services with a focus on open source to allow a minimal friction developer interaction with the platform and application services.
• Evaluates performance trends and expected changes in demand and capacity; and establish the appropriate scalability plans.
• Identifies and troubleshoots any availability and performance issues at multiple layers of deployment, from hardware, operating environment, network and application.
• Recommends and maintains technology related policies and procedures.

• 7 or more years of experience (Preferred).
• In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

• Deep level of understanding of Microsoft Entra  its relationship between Azure and M365.
• Deep level of understanding of Azure Management Groups and Policy.
• Deep level of understanding of Azure Regions, Availability Zones, VNets, Private Endpoints and Express Route.
• Minimum 5 years experience with Azure Cloud Services.
• Experience with GCP services such as Compute, IAM, Networking, and image management.
