This is a 6+ month contract and hybrid to downtown Chicago.
Responsibilities- Lead global, cross-functional teams (technical and non-technical) to successfully deliver strategic cybersecurity programs.
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to define, track, and achieve project outcomes and benefits.
- Manage project risks, issues, and dependencies to ensure on-time and high-quality delivery.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Drive resolution of project escalations and conflicts.
- Ensure adherence to internal delivery methodologies and maintain high-quality project documentation and artifacts.
- Develop project charters and execute comprehensive communication strategies.
- Foster strong collaboration across business and technology teams.
- Apply critical thinking to solve complex challenges and drive alignment among stakeholders.
- Clearly define and control project scope, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Implement structured change control processes for scope, budget, and resources.
- Ensure compliance with technology change management protocols.
- Manage project budgets ranging from $250K to $3M, including capital and expense tracking.
- Prepare and manage forecasts, monitor budget variances, and optimize project spend.
- Contribute to annual financial planning and reporting activities.
- Identify resource needs and partner with leadership to ensure adequate staffing.
- Optimize team performance, resolve resource conflicts, and provide performance feedback.
- Cultivate a collaborative, high-performance team environment.
- 10+ years of overall experience, including within Financial Services.
- 5+ years leading high-visibility technology or cybersecurity projects.
- Proven experience delivering cybersecurity initiatives in areas such as IAM (PAM, IGA, IAA), Data Protection, Security Operations, or Attack Surface Management.
- Strong ability to navigate complex, matrixed organizations and drive results.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to influence diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated initiative, organization, and a strong delivery mindset.
- Experience managing project budgets and financial performance.
- Project tools: MS Project, Azure Dev Ops (ADO), or similar
- Financial tools:
Clarity PPM or equivalent - Reporting tools:
Power BI, Tableau, or similar - Collaboration tools:
Microsoft 365 suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) - PMP certification
- MBA or advanced degree
- Experience with Agile, Scrum, and/or Waterfall methodologies
- Familiarity with demand and capacity management
