Overview
Motorola Solutions is seeking a Senior Technical Support Engineer for a remote U.S. role in the CMSO Software Enterprise Technical Support group. You will support and configure critical hardware and software implementations for public safety customers, with a focus on high-availability systems and rapid, high-quality resolutions. The position requires nights, weekends, holidays, and a rotational on-call responsibility.
Responsibilities- Customer Implementation & Support:
Configure and support complex hardware and software systems deployed in public safety environments; resolve highly critical issues via phone, email, and web portal with professionalism; collaborate across technical groups to streamline workflows and deliver rapid resolutions. - System Diagnosis & Optimization:
Troubleshoot and analyze system-level software, networking, and third-party components; identify root causes and implement corrective measures; maintain operational availability for local and remote implementations. - Technical
Collaboration:
Act as a self-directed technical resource and a collaborative team member; share domain knowledge on application behavior and database performance with internal engineering; participate in rotational off-hours on-call for emergency restoration.
- Technical Expertise:
Database & OS administration to configure and maintain MS SQL Server and MS Windows Server; performance analysis using MS Ops Manager and desktop OS tools to identify bottlenecks. - Network & Infrastructure troubleshooting:
Basic routing, firewalls, and security rules. - Professional
Experience:
Problem solving to diagnose, isolate, and resolve multifaceted software and hardware issues; strong client engagement skills and professionalism. - On-Call Rotation:
Willingness to participate in rotational, off-hour duties for system-critical issues.
- Advanced expertise in Premier One Application Suite or similar high-availability public safety platforms.
- Hands-on network infrastructure experience with F5 Load Balancers and Fortigate firewalls.
- Deep knowledge of relational database query writing, optimization, and SQL Server indexing.
This position is subject to working in high-security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy and requires a fingerprint background check.
Salary range: $90,000 – $110,000. Pay within this range varies based on knowledge, skills, and experience. Actual offer is based on the candidate.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customers.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required.
