Position: Business Analyst (Information Systems Analyst II, Option A)

This position serves as a Business Analyst supporting the Illinois State Police (ISP), performing in-depth assessment and analysis to business process re-engineering and transformation services.

The ideal candidate will have professional experience with Business Process Design and Business Process Reengineering definition and modeling. This position will coordinate and implement workshops with key stakeholders and users to determine business requirements. This position writes user stories, use cases, and program specifications, participating in design, testing, training, knowledge transfer, system tuning, and system implementation in order to translate and track results of business analysis through entire SDLC.

Essential

Functions
  • Under administrative direction, serves as a Business Analyst for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) supporting the Illinois State Police (ISP) performing complex professional and advisory functions for the Application Services.
  • Develops user stories, use cases, and program specifications, supporting design, testing, training, knowledge transfer, system tuning, and system implementation efforts to ensure business analysis results are accurately translated and maintained throughout the full System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Collaborates with Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT) technical staff and serves as a project team leader on complex initiatives, overseeing project planning, task coordination, technical solution development, and quality assurance to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Analyzes and recommends new procedures and techniques to improve requirements gathering, articulation, process, and data modeling, testing and documentation process.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through online training platforms, meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
