Position: BAI - Competitive Intelligence Senior Manager, Rare Disease

BAI - Competitive Intelligence Senior Manager, Rare Disease Responsibilities:

  • Serve as competitive intelligence lead for multiple assets in Amgen’s Rare Disease Business Unit; partner with US/Global Marketing and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape; synthesize primary and secondary intelligence into actionable strategic insights; communicate business implications.
  • Lead intelligence gathering and analysis; manage external vendors and internal intelligence networks.
  • Support major medical congresses via intelligence collection and debriefs.
  • Facilitate competitive simulations and strategic workshops; present recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Act as strategic thought partner across disease area, brand, corporate, and other teams.
  • Develop integrated analysis plans; apply structured problem solving to collect/analyze/report CI.
  • Educate customers on CI-relevant market dynamics; coordinate CI collection at conferences.
  • Identify/evaluate/implement new technologies for CI workflows.
  • Manage a network of primary data sources (vendors and Amgen employees).
  • Ensure CI deliverables meet standards of accuracy, relevance, and quality; communicate evidence level.
  • Attend/support CI debrief activities; enforce CI legal/ethical guidelines.
  • Travel: 15–20% required.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Doctorate + 2 years OR Master’s + 4 years OR Bachelor’s + 6 years OR Associate’s + 10 years OR High school/GED + 12 years of analytics/consulting/competitive intelligence experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PhD/PharmD/MBA focused on life sciences and business; rare disease consulting experience; biopharma industry familiarity.
  • Rare disease project/disease area knowledge; strategy/management consulting experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Strategic data analysis, strong communication (oral/written/presentation), project management, analytical skills, collaboration.
  • Strong understanding of rare disease trends, competitive dynamics, and unmet medical needs.
