Responsibilities
- Handle complex homeowners and commercial property claims with minimal supervision
- Investigate claims thoroughly and analyze coverage, liability, and damages
- Develop well-supported coverage positions
- Negotiate settlements with insureds, claimants, and attorneys
- Maintain proactive file management and accurate reserving practices
- Oversee litigated files and present claims to internal committees
- Ensure adherence to audit and departmental guidelines
- Experience handling homeowners and commercial property claims
- Strong analytical thinking
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to build relationships while navigating complex situations
- High level of comfort with claims technology and systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Industry designations such as Associate in Claims (AIC), Associate in General Insurance (AINS), or CPCU coursework preferred
- Acceptable driving record
