The Law Offices of Frederick W. Nessler & Associates, LTD. has an opening for a hardworking, highly motivated team player who has Litigation Paralegal experience to join our firm in Springfield, Illinois.
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of legal procedures and terminology related to litigation. The Litigation Paralegal will work closely with attorneys to assist in all phases of the litigation process.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
- Conduct legal research using various online resources and databases.
- Manage and organize case files and documents, including indexing and preparing exhibits for trial.
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and experts to schedule meetings, depositions, and court appearances.
- Assist with trial preparation, including preparing trial notebooks and exhibits.
- Maintain communication with clients to provide case updates and gather necessary information.
- Prepare and file documents with state and federal courts, including e-filing when applicable.
- Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing attorney calendars.
Qualifications:
- Paralegal certificate-preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a litigation paralegal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research platforms such as Westlaw or Lexis Nexis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of state and federal court rules and procedures.
- Familiarity with electronic document management systems and e-discovery processes.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 – $45,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
