Investment Management Associate Attorney — Junior to Mid-Level
A highly respected national law firm is seeking a driven junior to mid-level associate (Class Years 2021–2024) to join its Investment Management team within a sophisticated Corporate & Finance practice. This opportunity is available in either its Chicago or New York office.
In this role, you will work closely with an experienced, collaborative group of partners and associates advising on a wide range of investment management matters. You’ll gain meaningful responsibility from day one, with the chance to shape complex private fund formations and guide institutional investors, advisers, and other market participants through critical regulatory frameworks.
What You’ll Do- Support private fund formation and related transactional work across a diverse portfolio of fund strategies.
- Advise on issues arising under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and the Investment Company Act of 1940.
- Work directly with partners and senior attorneys on negotiations, structuring, and compliance matters.
- Engage with institutional investors and wealth advisory firms on a variety of sophisticated investment mandates.
- 1–4 years of experience in investment management transactional work, including private fund formation. Working within a Top 100 AM Law firm.
- Familiarity with the Advisers Act and the Investment Company Act.
- Excellent academic credentials paired with strong writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for high-responsibility work in a collegial environment.
- Admission to practice in the relevant jurisdiction, or eligibility to obtain it.

- Competitive compensation ranging from $225,000 to $310,000, commensurate with experience, plus eligibility for an hours-based bonus.
