Attorney

Drake, Narup & Mead, P.C. is looking for an attorney. This firm is the premiere civil defense litigation boutique in Springfield, Illinois, representing insureds for some of the world's largest insurers, in both commercial and personal lines, as well as in the defense of medical and legal professionals. We also represent insurers directly in subrogation and coverage matters. In this role, you will begin by working on automotive and premises liability defense cases, appearing frequently in court.

Responsibilities include:

* Dealing with claims professionals of insurance companies;
* negotiating settlements with other insurers;
* legal research and summary judgment motions;
* appearing in court and arguing complicated motions;
* depositions of parties, witnesses and medical providers.
* direct responsibility for case assignments, including jury trials. You will need:
* a law degree from an accredited law school;
* an active Illinois law license;
* Willingness to travel throughout central and southern Illinois;
* Excellent research and writing skills;
* Effective use of computer systems, including legal research;
* Strong relationship-building skills;
* Excellent communication skills;
* Detail oriented and good organizational skills;
* Trial experience;
