Director of Finance | PE-Backed Multi-Brand Portfolio | Remote (Chicago Area candidates)

A rapidly growing, private equity-backed collection of brands is seeking a Director of Finance to join its corporate team. This strategic role reports directly to the CFO and partners closely with General Managers and brand leaders to drive profitability, reduce costs, and create long-term value.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead corporate FP&A and reporting functions, ensuring alignment with PE sponsor and lender requirements.
• Drive financial performance across brands by partnering with sales and operations teams to enhance profitability and drive margin.
• Play a key role in M&A activities, including due diligence and post-acquisition integration.
• Participate in quarterly business reviews with the PE sponsor.
• Support software and reporting tool upgrades and implementations.

What the Company is Looking For:

• 12+ years of progressive finance experience.
• Proven success in small to mid-market, project-based industries (e.g., construction, landscaping, engineering, architecture).
• High EQ communicator with a dynamic presence and strong business acumen.
• Experience driving profitability in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Someone based in the Chicago area with ~15% travel to Midwest locations.
• Ambition to grow into the CFO role within 3–4 years.
• Base compensation 180-200k
• Bonus potential up to 20% based on company performance

• PTO offered on an accrual basis and prorated based on hire date within calendar year
• 4.5% 401(k) match
