Billing Supervisor

A globally recognized, award‑winning law firm is recruiting for a Billing Supervisor for its Chicago, IL office.

This is a leadership‑focused role for a billing professional who enjoys overseeing people, improving processes, and remaining hands‑on with billing operations. The Billing Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring accurate, timely billing across multiple offices while fostering collaboration and high performance within the department.

• Supervise day‑to‑day billing operations and support Billing team members across offices
• Serve as a primary resource for staff, providing training, guidance, and workload management
• Collaborate with attorneys and clients on invoice presentation and questions
• Process proformas, finalize invoices, and generate billing reports in accordance with Firm policy
• Partner with the e‑billing team to troubleshoot issues and maintain system knowledge
• Prepare and maintain billing policies and procedures documentation
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and help meet Firm billing deadlines
• Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback to the Billing Manager as part of reviews

• 7+ years of legal billing experience, including at least 2 years working in 3E
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills
• Bachelor’s degree preferred (accounting or business‑related coursework ideal)
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with attorneys, staff, and clients
• Prior supervisory experience preferred
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
